mild® procedure
Getting patients back on their feet1
The mild procedure addresses a major root cause of lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) by removing excess ligament tissue to restore space in the spinal canal and does not significantly alter the structural anatomy of the spine.12
Benefits of the mild procedure:
- Early treatment option—consider when conservative therapies (e.g., physical therapy, pain medication, chiropractic) are not providing adequate relief3
- Outpatient procedure—can be performed through a single, midline incision, which allows streamlined access to multiple levels and sides, to help reduce non-treating time4
- Addresses a major root cause of LSS—restores space in the spinal canal, which reduces the compression of the nerves
- Quick recovery time—patients are typically discharged within 24 hours2
LSS is prevalent in ~20% of patients aged 60+.5
Clinically significant outcomes:
- Pain relief—mild may provide lasting* pain relief and increased mobility 6
- Patient satisfaction—patients reported a 76.8% patient satisfaction rate with the mild procedure6
- Increase standing time—In a Cleveland Clinic 1-year study, patients were able to increase their average standing time from 8 minutes to 56 minutes (stand 7x longer) with less pain1
- Increase walking distance—In a Cleveland Clinic 1-year study, patients were able to increase their average walking distance from 246 feet to 3,956 feet (walk 16x farther) with less pain1
*as demonstrated in a 2-year follow-up
